A powerful voice and a beautiful soul. With a range of influences including Anita Baker, Buju Banton, Alison Hinds, and Alicia Keys, singer-songwriter Leigh Phillips invites her listeners to join her on a personal evolution through varied emotional spaces. Her sound blends a neo-soul feel, paired with Caribbean rhythmic elements, that will leave an impression on your heart long after the music stops.
Leigh is an alumnus of Combermere School in Barbados and obtained her tertiary education at York University in Toronto, majoring in International Development Studies and Spanish. However, her love for music began at the tender age of three and was nurtured while singing in her local church. In 2015, upon returning to Barbados from Toronto, she made the step to become an artist by participating in Honey Jam Barbados, an all-female developmental program.
Since then the Grenadian-born, Barbadian raised beauty has been featured on various stages as a representative for Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, the National Cultural Foundation, and Honey Jam Canada, amongst others.
She has also been featured in publications locally and internationally with recent features in Irie Mag and Buzz Caribbean. Leigh will be releasing a new single "Say When", featuring French reggae artiste Ridah Kadabra, as a follow-up to her full-length album, "Queen".
We’re sure you’ll join her growing fan base, whom she affectionately calls her #Loveleighs.
